February was the month of love and the month of the heart too! and at EHS we celebrated it in a big way by inviting our employees to join the “Go Red for Women” initiative, which is organized by the American Heart Association with the purpose of raising awareness about the incidence of cardiovascular disease among women.
Our employees showed their support by wearing their favorites red t-shirts every Friday of February. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in the US, and along with stroke, cardiovascular disease causes more deaths among women than all cancers combined. About every 80 seconds, a woman dies of heart disease. Fortunately, these numbers can be changed. Strokes and cardiac events can be prevented with proper education and action.
