1. Could you briefly describe your role and responsibilities as a Radiologist Technician within EHS?
My role as the Lead Radiology Technologist with EHS is to maintain a compliant department under the supervision of my director while providing the BEST patient care possible. I carry several responsibilities, which is too many to list 🙂
2. What inspired you to pursue a career in Radiology?
My grandmother and her passing away from colon cancer have inspired me to pursue a career in Radiology. My journey in this field can be challenging at times and rewarding. Our patients love us at EHS and always tell us they would rather come here than anywhere else. I have had several people call me an angel.
In November of 2022, my dad came in as an outpatient to have a CT scan of his chest; we found his lung cancer in Stage 2. When I returned home last year, I was hopeful that my EHS family would welcome me back, and they did with open arms!
3. Can you share a memorable experience or achievement from your time as a Radiology Technician?
After working in this field for more than 10+ years, in May of 2021, I completed my bachelor’s degree in Radiology; this was an outstanding achievement but a challenging time for me as well due to my mother unexpectedly passing away from pancreatic cancer in January 2021.
4. What do you enjoy most about your career?
What I enjoy most about my career is the feeling I get and the drive to help others.
5. What do you enjoy most about working in EHS?
What I enjoy most about working in EHS is the ability to work in a family-like setting.
6. How do you like to spend your free time?
In my free time, I love spending time with my family: my husband of 15 years, our daughter who is 14, my 19-year-old daughter, my two nieces we have been raising, our 18-month-old grandson, and my dad. I love to travel (when I have time) and work (stress reliever), and I love the water (beach or lake).
7. What advice would you like to share with your colleagues or those aspiring to join the field of radiology?
Working in the Radiology Department is a great career choice for anyone considering working in the medical field. It is gratifying when you get to help people. Please do not hesitate to stop by to chat more about this excellent career choice.
