As Chief Executive Officer and Administrator for Emergency Hospital Systems, LLC, Mr. Don Vickers provides leadership and strategic direction for the system’s five community hospitals. In this capacity, Mr. Vickers is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the hospitals, establishment of all governance and operational infrastructure, and creation of HR protocols for all hospital hiring. With more than 20 years of managerial experience, Mr. Vickers oversees all applications for facilities ownership changes, securing general hospital and departmental licenses, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Mr. Vickers also serves as the hospital’s interface and communications channel to local, civic, and other governmental and business leaders. In addition, he has acted in numerous executive and leadership roles over the years including service as a voting member of the Syndromic Surveillance Governing Council (SSGC) for the Texas Department of State Health Services.
Mr. Vickers’s management philosophy centers on ensuring the finest in personal service, maintaining superior performance across all hospital departments, and delivering the highest levels of compassionate patient care. This philosophy permeates the EHS organization where each staff member is expected to provide both excellent professional services and dedicated personal attention to each patient. EHS’s growth is a consequence of providing outstanding medical care to the communities we serve.
Mr. Vickers completed his BS degree in Education from Lamar University, Beaumont, Texas, and his MBA and a Masters in Education, Administration also from Lamar University. In addition, he completed course-work in Entrepreneur Studies at Rice University, Houston. He is currently a member of the Medical Group Management Association, The American College of Healthcare Professionals, The Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospitals, and the National Commission on Correctional Health Care. He makes his home in Katy, Texas.
