WORDS FROM OUR CEO

Welcome to the first edition of our newsletter for the year 2021. I hope everyone is well and warm after the winter storm that hit us. I know we all have faced tremendous things in recent months, first with the COVID-19 pandemic and then with the freeze. Many people in Texas were without electricity, drinking water, and food, however, they have been working very hard to overcome the situation, and this has been amazing.

The year 2021 begins with very positive things for EHS. One of them is that EHS was selected by the state as a COVID-19 vaccination HUB. We are very excited about this and the results we are achieving so far. In just six weeks, we have vaccinated more than 6,000 people, and as for today, we are vaccinating at a rate of 630 people a day.

The vaccination process could not have been better. We have received great feedback from the community saying that the vaccination is well-organized, running smoothly, and carried out in an efficient way with no issues. I want to thank all our vaccination staff for this coordinated effort. I am very proud of the work they do.

Patty Foster, CEO with Texas Emergency Hospital and Cassie Kavanaugh, CNO with Emergency Hospital Systems have been working around the clock at our COVID-19 vaccination clinic to ensure that everyone who makes a vaccination appointment and qualifies for phase 1A or 1B receives the vaccine.

Last year we were involved in several projects, besides the fight against COVID-19. One of them has been the modernization of our operating room at Texas Emergency Hospital. We are very close to completion and the community will soon be able to benefit from new and remodeled OR rooms.

We have also been working hard in strengthening our quality program. This effort has paid off, as we have seen a significant improvement in our quality performance and measures. The quality team is doing an incredible job.

We are entering the month of March and I just want to thank the community for the support they give us and for relying on us for their healthcare needs. As we move into spring, you will see more good things to come.

Thank you all for reading us and for staying up to date on what we do! …
